Free GCP PCA Practice Test vs ExamTopics: Which Prepares You Better?

The Short Answer

They are different products. ExamTopics is a community forum built on questions candidates recall from the real exam, with discussion threads that argue about the answers, and it is free to browse with engagement limits. We publish timed 50–60 question mocks written against Google’s official exam guide and case studies. Forum threads are useful for debate; they do not rehearse the 120-minute exam format, and recalled exam content sits at odds with Google’s own exam terms.

What ExamTopics actually is

ExamTopics hosts a page for the Google Professional Cloud Architect exam carrying a large bank of questions with member discussion underneath each one. Its model is crowdsourced: candidates post what they remember, and other members argue about which option was correct. Its own marketing cites student statistics such as “94% found the real exam almost the same” and an average reported score around 95%.

Two things follow from that model, and both matter when you decide how to study:

  • The questions are recalled, not written. Quality, currency and answer reliability vary between threads, because the content depends on who happened to submit it.
  • There is no exam simulation. You read a question, then read an argument. You do not sit a timed 120-minute paper with scoring by domain, which is the skill the real exam actually measures.

The uncomfortable question about recalled questions

Google’s certification exam terms require candidates not to disclose exam content. Question forums exist because that content gets described anyway. Whatever you think of the practice, there is a practical consequence: memorising recalled questions teaches recognition, and the PCA is explicitly a judgement exam where several options are technically valid. Recognition is worth very little when the wording changes.

That is the standard we hold ourselves to as well. Our questions are written against the official exam guide and the published case studies, and we do not reproduce leaked exam content. It is also why we publish concept-based revision material rather than dumps.

How to use both without wasting time

  1. Take a timed full mock first, cold. That tells you which domains are actually costing you marks.
  2. Fix the weak domains using the official documentation, our networking and database guides, and the case-study walkthroughs.
  3. Use forum threads, if you use them at all, to check reasoning on a topic you already understand — not as your primary question bank.
  4. Re-take full mocks until your scores are stable and you finish with time left.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is ExamTopics official?

No. ExamTopics is an independent community site. Google Cloud does not endorse it, and it is not affiliated with Google’s certification programme.

Are ExamTopics questions the real exam questions?

Its content is submitted by candidates describing what they saw, so it resembles the real exam without being a licensed copy of it. Google’s exam terms require candidates not to disclose exam content.

Which is better for the last week before the exam?

Timed full mocks and concept revision. In the final week you want to rehearse the 120-minute format and the case studies, not read debates about individual questions.

Can I practise the exam format for free?

Yes. Our mock exams run the real format — 50–60 randomised questions, 120-minute timer, instant scoring — with unlimited attempts and no signup.
